Wedding FAQ

What style of photography can I expect on my wedding day?

There are three styles of photography that we use, Reportage (this is where we blend in and shoot off the hip) Set up reportage (we create natural situations and use direction to create stunning natural images like the ones you see and love in bridal magazines) and finally Traditional (these are set up shots like the signing of the register and cutting of the cake). Every couple is is different therefore although there is a formula this is always adapted to suit their preferences and individual style. Our aim is to provide you with a stunning set of images that you will love and create memories for life.

How long do you stay on the day?

There is no set number of hours with any of our packages as every wedding has very different timings and every couple different needs. Once you have decided on the sort of coverage you would like and your timings we can then give you more of an idea of how long you can expect us to be with you.

What equipment do you use?

All our of equipment is Canon, we take a variety of bodies and lenses for example D1, D1s and 5D all of these have different lenses attached, to enable us to capture every aspect of your special day. We believe that Canon are the best providers of equipment and being members of their professional network we are always updated on new advancements in technology. We always carry spare and back up cameras. As we have been the business for over 13 years we still have the trusted old film camera is always in the car just in case!

How many photographs will be taken on the day and how many previews can I expect to see?

This is dependent on the coverage chosen by you, however for a package covering getting ready to posed cutting of cake usually between 500-700 are taken. We will then choose the best shots for you to preview, normally between 400-600.

Do you take formal group shots?

The choice is yours, we always conduct a pre-wedding shoot approximately 1 month before your special day. This enables us to run through timings and your preferred style of shots. We offer you our advice on the number and feasibility of shots based on your timings, and work with you to create a complete set of images that will reflect your personalities and wedding day style.

When do I need to book my wedding photographer?

If you are reading this you are probably in the early stages of planning your wedding. Before booking please read my tips for brides on choosing your photographer. Once you have chosen book as soon as possible to secure them and avoid disappointment.

What happens if it rains?

We always visit the venue beforehand usually on the pre-wedding shoot with you. During this time we will advise you of the alternative locations for your couple shots group and portraits should the weather be inclement. In our experience it rarely rain from dawn to dusk and we will utilise the time by creating beautiful indoor shots. Being women we understand the importance of the outside photographs, the stunning scenery backdrop that you paid the earth for.

We always carry smart black umbrellas which enable you to comfortably go outside without the fear of getting wet, creating stunning portraits and are a true record of the day, In addition we will stay with you free of charge until the light no longer allows us to work, if this plan fails then we will again free of charge, arrange a special portrait shoot after your honeymoon. Most importantly please do not worry about the weather, in the 13 years that we are being photographing couples just like you, we have only had 1 day when it rained continually and we did just we we said above, took photographs with umbrellas which were fabulous, and went back after the couples honeymoon, they decided that as they loved all the wedding photos so much that they would take the opportunity of having some already married photos and dressed casually rather than wedding attire.

So for them the rain was a bonus!
